List of Abilities

Animate

Category: element.
Effect: You imbue an inanimate object with mobility and a semblance of life. The object understands and obeys your spoken commands.
Paragon Effect:
You imbue an inanimate object with intelligence and life. The creature is free-willed and not under your control. You can use your ability skill instead of interaction skills when interacting with the creature.

Animate the Dead

Prerequisite: Sorcery.
Effect: You turn the bones or bodies of dead creatures into undead skeletons or zombies that obey your spoken commands. A skeleton can be created only from a mostly intact skeleton or corpse. If a skeleton is made from a corpse, the flesh falls off the bones. A zombie can be created only from a mostly intact corpse.
Paragon Effect:
You turn the corpse of a dead person into a vampire. The vampire is free-willed and not under your control.
Special: A creature that has died can attempt to rise as a vampire.
Restriction: Can only be used at night. Cannot affect the corpse of a person who had the Devout Belief feat or who was a follower of the True Faith and was properly buried by someone with the Devout Belief feat.

Attribute

Category: attribute.
Effect: The target's attribute improves. Apply a bonus equal to half the power expended (rounded up).

Change

Category: creature or element.
Resist: Endure.
Effect: The target's form changes into the form of something of the same level or lower. The target's level does not change if the new form has a lower level than the original form.

Contact

Category: creature or element.
Challenge: Very Difficult if the target is a spirit.
Resist: Focus.
Effect: You can communicate with the target. You can use your ability skill instead of interaction skills when interacting with the creature.

Contact the Dead

Prerequisite: Sorcery.
Challenge: Very Difficult if the intact corpse is not present.
Resist: Focus.
Effect: You grant the semblance of life and intellect to a dead creature, allowing it to answer questions that you put to it. If the dead creature's intact corpse is present, you animate the corpse. If the dead creature's remains are present or if the creature was killed at the location, you animate the corpse's spirit. You can use Arcana instead of Negotiate to persuade the dead creature to answer your questions.
Special: You do not actually talk with the creature's soul, but with the memories left behind in the creature's body. The dead creature's knowledge is limited to what the creature knew during life: it cannot learn new information, and does not remember being questioned.
Restriction: Can only be used at night.

Control

Category: creature.
Challenge: Very Difficult.
Resist: Focus.
Effect: You take control of the target and force it to follow your spoken commands. The target understands your commands even if it does not speak your language. You can use your ability skill instead of the target's Focus to resist damage to the target from interaction skill checks.

Curse

Challenge: Very Difficult for dying curses.
Resist: Endure for physical curses, Focus for mental curses.
Effect: You weaken the target in some way.
Special: Any creature that has just died, is dying, or is in imminent danger of dying can attempt to place a curse. The curse must be placed no later than the creature's first action following their death. If the creature does not die or is restored to life, the curse has no effect.

Effect: You can communicate across great distances.

Farsight

Spirit Form

Effect: Your spirit leaves your body and enters the World of Spirits.

Paragon Effect:
The effects do not return when you cease to suppress them.

Teleport

Prerequisite: Spirit Form.
Effect: You travel rapidly through the World of Spirits to a designated destination elsewhere in the world of Arda.

Telekinesis

Trap Spirit

Prerequisite: Sorcery.
Category: creature.
Resist: Focus.
Effect: You capture the spirit of a newly dead creature before it enters the World of Spirits and imprison it in an item. A trapped spirit can be freed by destroying the item or by suppressing the ability.
