Light: You can sleep in light armour without becoming fatigued.
Medium: Medium armour reduces your speed by 10 ft (5 ft for small creatures). You are fatigued if you sleep in medium armour.
Heavy: Heavy armour reduces your speed by 10 ft (5 ft for small creatures) and you only move triple your speed when you run. You are fatigued if you sleep in heavy armour.
Shield: The defence bonus provided by a shield stacks with the defence bonus provided by a suit of armour.

Armour Descriptions

Brigandine: A suit of flexible leather reinforced with metal rivets.

Chain Mail: A suit of chain links over quilted cloth, including chain gauntlets, plus a helmet.

Chain Shirt: A short suit of chain links over quilted cloth, plus a metal cap.

Full Plate: An articulated suit of plates that covers the entire body.

Leather: A suit of leather with stiffened chest and shoulder pieces.

Padded: A suit of quilted cloth and batting.

Plate & Leather: A breastplate, helmet and greaves, plus a light suit or skirt of brigandine.

Plate & Mail: A breastplate, helmet, greaves, gauntlets, elbow and knee guards, plus a suit of chain mail.

Shields: A wooden or metal barrier strapped to one arm and gripped with one hand. A light shield's weight allows you to hold something in your hand while using the shield, but a heavy shield's weight does not. You can bash with a shield as an off-hand weapon instead of using it to defend yourself. You lose the shield's defence bonus until your next action.

Getting In and Out of Armour

Armour Type Don Don Hastily Remove
Shield 1 move action not applicable 1 move action
Light 1 minute 5 rounds 1 minute*
Medium 4 minutes* 1 minute 1 minute*
Heavy 4 minutes** 4 minutes* 4 minutes*
* If you have a helper, cut this time in half. A single character doing nothing else can help two adjacent characters.
** You must have help to don this armour. Without a helper, you can only don this armour hastily.

Don: This is how long it takes you to put the armour on.
Don Hastily: This is how long it takes you to put the armour on when you're in a hurry. The armour check penalty and defence bonus are each 1 point worse than normal.
Remove: This is how long it takes you to get the armour off.
