Magic potions and oils usually confer the benefits of a spell on the creature who drinks all the potion or the creature or object that is covered with all the oil. The minimum Purchase DC for a potion is 10.
Drinking a potion or applying an oil requires no special skill. The user merely removes the stopper and swallows the potion or smears on the oil. The following rules govern potion and oil use.
Drinking a potion or using an oil on an item of gear is a standard action. The potion or oil takes effect immediately. Using a potion or oil provokes attacks of opportunity.
A successful attack (including grappling attacks) against the character forces a Concentration check (as for casting a spell). If the character fails this check, she cannot drink the potion.
An enemy may direct an attack of opportunity against the potion or oil container rather than against the character. A successful attack of this sort can destroy the container.
The potion must be swallowed. A character can carefully administer a potion to an unconscious creature as a full-round action, trickling the liquid down the creature's throat. Likewise, it takes a full-round action to apply an oil to an unconscious creature.
Oil of Healing: When applied to a creature's wounds, this oil removes up to 8 wounds of lethal and 8 wounds of nonlethal damage. A disabled creature ceases to be disabled; a staggered creature ceases to be staggered; an unconsious creature becomes conscious; a dying creature becomes stable and conscious.

Potion of Life: This potion can restore life to a creature that has been dead for 13 days or less. You pour the potion into the dead corpse's mouth and call the creature's soul back by speaking its name (though you might get a different creature anyway if you don't use the creature's true name). If the creature's soul is free and willing to return, the creature is restored to life.
