Duneld Across the Water and Old Duneld

Head of State: King of the Dunns.

Form of Government: weak monarchy, strong nobility in Duneld Across the Water, weak popular assemblies in Old Duneld.

State of the Nation in 1393 AUC: Duneld Across the Water is poor and overpopulated, as more and more people flee from Old Duneld to avoid Goblin raiders and war bands. Old Duneld is vulnerable to Goblin attackers and receives little support from Duneld Across the Water: outside the garrison-towns along the coast, the people live in constant fear of Goblin raids.

Races: mostly Humans, some Dwarves in Duneld Across the Water and some Goblins in Old Duneld.

Religion: officially Selentine True Faith, some Tralline True Faith, mostly Paganism in Old Duneld.

Description and History: The Dunns once lived north of the Linn River in what is now Vestad, but moved south to Old Duneld to avoid the growing power of the Selentine Empire after the defeat of the Witch-King and the decline of the Empire of Wyrd. They raided and settled the island of Elles alongside the Mercanians, and when the kings of Krarth began to threaten their lands, the rulers crossed the Glaive and established Duneld Across the Water. Thus, Duneld is a kingdom of two parts: Old Duneld on the mainland and Duneld Across the Water on the island of Elles. The King of the Dunns and most of the nobility have now moved to Duneld Across the Water, but many of the common people have not, and are subjected to the attacks of the kings of Krarth.
