The Dwarven Kingdoms
(Braebur, Dorrain, Harogarn, Thurander)

Head of State: Kings

Form of Government: strong theocratic monarchies.

State of the Nation in 1393 AUC: The Dwarven kingdoms are all slowly declining in population and power. Harogarn is continually raided by Tashim entrepreneurs from Zhenir, some of whom have settled in the eastern half of the kingdom. Thurander has not recovered from the sack of the capital Olavan and the destruction of the country's leaders by Alcalagon the Dragon, who still sits on his treasure mound in the Hall of Kings in Olavan, and the country is in a state of constant war against the Goblins who have occupied the western parts of the kingdom. Dorrain's resources are drained by Thurander's ongoing need for reinforcements and assistance in the Great War. Braebur is small and isolated, and does little trading with its neighbours.

Races: entirely Dwarven, though western Thurander has been occupied by Alcalagon the Black and numerous Goblins from Krarth.

Religion: Paganism. The Kings are also the religious leaders.

Description and History: The Dwarven kingdoms are made up of extensive underground cities connected to each other by long tunnels. Expert miners, the Dwarves export a large volume of precious metals, gems, and metalwork, unenchanted and enchanted. Principal imports are foodstuffs like alcohol and meat, regarded as luxuries by the Dwarves (it is not known what they usually consume, as they clearly do not import enough food to live on). Dwarven women are bearded, and outwardly resemble men: their children are hidden away from outsiders.
