The Petkenaks and the Vassklavi

Head of State: tribal leaders.

Form of Government: tribal confederations.

State of the Nation in 1393 AUC: the Petkenaks and Vassklavi are large and varied groups of tribes that occupy the forests west of Vestad and the Trackless Ooze, an area of marshes, lakes and desolate land cobwebbed by fetid rivers. They pay tribute to their more powerful neighbours (Krarth, the Gunguska Khanate and the Witch-King) as required, and do not resist armies that move through their lands.

Races: mostly Humans, some Goblins.

Religion: Paganism.

Description and History: the Petkenaks hunt and farm throughout their impoverished land, living in fortified villages and households, while the Vassklavi live in reed huts raised on stilts above the ground along the coast of the Trackless Ooze. Both are barbaric and unsophisticated peoples, and the rewards of trading with them are not worth the risks entailed.
